Adult Classes
Our adult classes lay the foundation for transformation by equipping, teaching and training adults to live biblically. These classes also are a great way to connect with other believers on Sunday mornings.
There are many classes that can help you take the next step in your spiritual journey. Below is a description of each. These classes begin Dec. 4 and continue through Feb. 26, 2012.
OC Core Classes
OC Core Classes help lay the foundation for a person's spiritual growth & maturity. The Core Classes are designed for those who are:
- checking out Christianity
- new followers of Jesus Christ
- returning to church & reengaging in their relationship with Jesus
- trying to get a better understanding of what it means to live a Christian life & how to do it
- interested in getting a handle on the "basics" of the Christian faith
Biblical Principles for Living
The Biblical Principles for Living class is one of the CORE classes of Otterbein Church. In this class, you will use the Bible and the Self-Confrontation Manual to help you understand God's Word and how to apply it to your daily life as you deal with the struggles and challenges you may be facing.

The Pastoral Epistles: 1 & 2 Timothy, Titus
Many tend to dismiss the "Pastoral Epistles" as just for pastors, but they are for all of us as Christians: good, practical counsel and wisdom. Paul's three "Pastoral Epistles" are I and II Timothy and Titus. Timothy was not too happy in his church in Ephesus; Titus was in a difficult situation on the Island of Crete. To both of them Paul wrote: "Be faithful. It's too soon to quit." It is a lesson still relevant to today.
Teacher: Bruce Anderson
Time & Location: 9:20 a.m. in Church RM 105
Faith Lessons
Do you ever doubt? Many Christians feel as if they are persons of doubt rather than persons of faith. Perhaps you wonder how to be a person of faith, how to put faith into action. This is where Scripture comes in. Much of what Scripture teaches us about faith comes through stories of faithful people. In this class, we learn about the actions of some of the great heroes of our faith. Each stands on the faithful shoulders of those who have gone before.
Teachers: Donnie Etter & Pastor John Mullen

The Best Question Ever, Andy Stanley Video Series
We will finish this video series in the first eight weeks of the session. In the series, Andy challenges us to also ask ourselves, "Is it the wise thing to do?" along with the biblical and moral questions we often ask ourselves when we are dealing with difficult questions or situations.
Teachers: Brian Houpt & Bradley Reynolds

Wilderness Mentality
Men who don't ask directions waste a lot of time. New studies find that every year the average male drives 276 miles lost. The nation of Israel, God's special people, left Egypt for the Promised Land and took 40 years to reach their destination. The Bible says it was an 11-day journey. Why did they keep going in circles? Have you ever thought that we do pretty much the same thing? We are on a journey to the Promised Land. Let's stop going in circles and start to enjoy the wilderness trip. Stop in and check out the GPS.
Teacher: Rick Mouer
Time & Location:
9:20 a.m. in MC 203
The Knowledge of the Holy
What is the nature of God? What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us. That our idea of God corresponds as nearly as possible to the true being of God is of immense importance to us. A right conception of God is basic not only to systematic theology but to practical Christian living as well. The Knowledge of the Holy illuminates God's attributes and shows how we can more fully recognize and appreciate each of these divine aspects.
