The Bible exhorts us to “be persistent in your prayers for all Christians everywhere.”
At Otterbein, we are committed to be a church where people pray for one another, for the needs of the church, and for the needs of the world. Every week a prayer request list is compiled and shared via email or regular postal mail to those who have signed up, committing themselves to pray We call them Otterbein Prayer Partners. The list includes requests submitted each week by individuals during the worship services, timely requests from our missionaries, ministry requests and for upcoming events. This is the primary way the needs of the greater church are shared and prayed for. If you would like to receive the weekly prayer list, please call the church office at (717.762.7147. If you have a prayer request that you would like to add to the prayer list, please complete the Prayer Request Form below.
Prayer also takes place on a regular basis through our small groups and within other ministries of the Church. Prayer is also an important part of the OC Sunday Classes and the children and youth Sunday School program.
We hold occasional concerts of prayer before crucial decision making times, specific seasonal outreaches, before large church events and in conjunction with the National day of Prayer.
The first Tuesday of every month we hold a prayer gathering in the prayer room at the church (behind the world map in the lobby). It takes place 7–8:15 p.m. Anyone is welcome to attend. It is led by Darrel Knepper.
Jesus Christ is our greatest example of one who prayed. Let us join together in making prayer a priority! For more information about our prayer ministry, please contact the church office.
