Easter at Otterbein – An Overview

Following is an overview of our worship services and special events beginning with Palm Sunday weekend (March 28-29) up through Easter weekend (April 4-5).  We hope you will join us as we focus on and remember Jesus’ death and celebrate His resurrection from the dead.

Palm Sunday Weekend—March 28-29
We will have a special worship celebration on Saturday, March 28 at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday morning, March 29 at 8, 9:20, and 10:45 a.m. that will include the orchestra, adult choir, youth choir, praise team, and adult and children’s worship dancers. The services will be held in the sanctuary. Children’s ministries available on Saturday evening for birth through age 5.

Palm Sunday Reenactment, Sunday, March 29
On Palm Sunday the Children’s ministry will host a live reenactment of Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem. The live reen-actment will take place during both the 9:20 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. services on the church lawn. All children in the preschool and elementary departments will participate.

Communion Service, Thursday, April 2
On Thursday, April 2, we will have a special communion service in the Ministry Center gym at 6:30 p.m. This will be an intimate time of worship and reflection as we share together the Lord’s Supper. Childcare will be available for children birth through age 5 in the Ministry Center.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt, Saturday, April 4
On Saturday, April 4, the children’s ministry  will hold our annual Easter egg hunt at 11 a.m. at the Otterbein Community Recreation Park on Welty Road. This year’s hunt is for children ages 2 years through grade 5. Please be sure to bring a basket for all of your goodies.

Easter Weekend—April 4-5
We have added a Saturday evening service on Easter weekend (April 4, 6:30 p.m.) to make room for additional guests who will join us as we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection. Children’s ministries will be available on Saturday evening for children birth through grade 5. We will have our regular schedule (8, 9:20, 10:45 a.m.) on Easter Sunday (April 5).
