OC Core Classes
OC Core Classes help lay the foundation for a person’s spiritual growth & maturity. The Core Classes are designed for those who are:
- checking out Christianity
- new followers of Jesus Christ
- returning to church & reengaging in their relationship with Jesus
- trying to get a better understanding of what it means to live a Christian life & how to do it
- interested in getting a handle on the “basics” of the Christian faith
OC Core Classes generally last for 13 weeks with new classes beginning in September, December, March and June of each year.
Five Classes Offered
- Starting Point
In the class we will answer three foundational questions about the Bible as well as provide an overview of the Bible based on nine key characters. It is an excellent place for those seeking or starting a relationship with God. It is a safe environment to ask your questions and move forward in your spiritual journey. - Biblical Principles for Living
In the class you will use the Bible and the Self-Confrontation manual to help you understand God’s Word and how to apply it to your daily life as you deal with the struggles and challenges you may be facing. - My Life’s Mission
In this class you will learn to better understand how God has wired you and equipped you to serve Him and others in your life. By the end of the class, you will better understand how your unique God-given SHAPE (Spiritual gifts, Heart/passion, Abilities, Personality, and Experiences) will help you to serve others inside and outside the church in the most fulfilling and effective way. - Foundations
Have you ever considered why you believe what you believe? Is it because you believe what your parents taught you to believe or because that’s just what you’ve always been taught? The class is designed to help you explore and understand the building blocks of the Christian faith so you can make your beliefs your own. - Shaping Up
In this class you will learn some of the keys to growing in your Christian faith including how to study the Bible. Other spiritual “disciplines” are also discussed in the class. The class is very practical and will help provide the tools you need to continue to move ahead in your spiritual journey.
Pre-Registration/Times/Locations
Pre-registration is strongly encouraged for OC Core Classes. Pre-registration is generally available several weeks prior to the beginning of each session (September, December, March and June). Information with specific class offerings, class times, locations and instructors are available in the church bulletin and online prior to each class.
