Music & Creative Arts
Music & arts at Otterbein are presented with two goals in mind—worship & outreach. Each Sunday & during special services, we try to present the highest quality music & art that will inspire & encourage our congregation to worship God in a relevant & meaningful way. Our desire is to create an atmosphere where worship has the opportunity to happen. It is up to each individual to make the decision to worship God, but we in the music & arts ministry want everyone who attends a service to be drawn into worship by music that is of the quality & utmost integrity. We emphasize singing as a major part of our worship, but realize that worship is truly an all-encompassing act that relates to the other parts of our services, as well as the way we live our daily lives.
The adult choir sings in our 8 a.m. service each Sunday & occasionally in our 9:30 & 11 a.m. services. The adult choir is open to anyone in grade 9 & older. There are no auditions required to join.
The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. in the worship center. For more information about being involved in the adult choir, email Dave Besecker, Director of Music Ministries.
The Praise Team leads our worship services in singing each Sunday. It is made up of instrumentalists & vocalists. The Praise Team is open to anyone in grade 9 & older. It is by audition only. Instrumentals include acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, drums, keyboards & other percussion as needed.

Our children's dance team is for children age 3–14 & is directed by PennyJo Bach. They practice every Saturday morning during the school year. They perform in church twice a year.

The Friendship Company is our children's choir for grades 3–6. They rehearse on Sunday evenings through the school year. They sing several times in our worship services throughout the year & present a musical in the spring.
